cryptic...

Happy Tuesday! I don't know, I'm in a good mood. Anyway, here's a cryptic collage of what I'm wearing today. I felt like I should wait until Spring to wear this vintage dress, but after rediscovering it in a suitcase last week, I just couldn't wait. So yes, I look a bit like Easter!

when i'm with you i have fun / my weekend outfit...

This became my weekend outfit. I don't exactly know how it became what I wore Saturday and today. Maybe it was just too easy and comfortable, but I do love collared shirts and blue and yellow are my favorite colors that I can never wear enough of.
This weekend we slept in, went to OMSI (the science museum in Portland), pretended to be Tesla, stood by the river at night, window shopped, ran some errands, ate delicious veggie burritos, cruised around town...its been fun. Also, I continued my closet(s) cleaning and found a few more items to put on Storenvy (hopefully by Tuesday at the latest).

past lives...

Well, I think that Spring cleaning bug caught up to me a bit early this year! I have been going through ll of my drawers and closets seeing what I can donate, sell, or remake. It's actually quite fun and a little funny when I come across an item from years back and think, "What the heck was I thinking? I must have been really brave the day I wore this!" Then, there are those items that you come across and can't believe you haven't worn more often. Like this dress!
Have a great weekend !!!
***Sorry the lighting isn't better, but I didn't open the windows for fear of having to explain to my gardening neighbor why I was taking photos of myself in the mirror!

Today's outfit...

So I may be all dressed up with nowhere to go, but hey, that's what makes life a little sweeter! It's actually not raining right now so I would use this outfit to at least do some window shopping or grab lunch around Portland, but that's just too tempting. I am not taking any chances! I don't know what got into me, but I spent a little more than I should have on a "few" items this morning while online. Not to mention my little trip to F21 yesterday! Anyway, this is what I'm wearing right now while browsing around some blogs and trying to avoid looking at the bank accounts.

Lavendar Sachet from Her Name Was Greta...

Here is the sweetest guest post from the sweetest lady! Enjoy!

Hi!
My name is Stina and I blog over at Her Name Was Greta and I'm thrilled Lilly gave me the opportunity to share this fun and quick tutorial with you!

We will be making a lavendar sachet today. They are great to place among your clothes and linens. It gives them both a fresh smell AND deters moths. Lavendar has a relaxing effect and I love picking out my clothes in the morning and inhaling that sweet fragrance. It's a great way to start your day, in my opinion.

I hope you will like this cute tutorial. Please, do share links or photos of your finished cupcake sachets, I'd love to see them!

First, https://rapidshare.com/files/471185376/Lavender_Cupcake_Sachet.pdf download the pattern from Rapidshare with the link above. Click the download button (under the hopping green arrow), ignore the wish to pay for a pro account and let it count down to 0, then click the download button again and it will start to download.
The PDF file includes the pattern as well as the tutorial for your convenience.
Materials Needed:
Dried lavender
Poly fill
Sharp, small scissors
Pins
Scrap fabric in 2 different colors
Thread
Small piece of ribbon or lace
Small beads

1. Cut out the 2 pieces from the pattern and pin them to your scrap fabric.
2. Cut 2 of each shape!
3. Lay the smaller shapes (the icing) on top of the larger pieces.

4. Sew the bottom of the icing to the larger piece. To keep the fabric from moving around, secure it with pins. Do the same to the other half of the cupcake.

5. Embellish wit beads to create the sprinkles!

6. Lay the 2 cupcake halves together, wrong sides facing each other, and sew around. Make sure to sew through all 4 layers. Sandwich your ribbon or lace between the layers on top and sew it in place.

7. Leave one of the sides open.

8. Take 1-2 tablespoons of the dried lavender and put it in your cupcake and lightly stuff with poly fill.

9. Sew the opening shut. Hang in your wardrobe or place in your drawer. Enjoy your fresh smelling clothes and linens!
